Darksiders, known also as Darksiders - Wrath of War, is an action- adventure game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. The PC version was released in September 2010, a year after PS3 and Xbox360 versions.

Earth was invaded by the forces of Heaven and Hell, destroying everything in their fight. The player takes the role of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He comes to Earth sent by The Charred Council, a neutral entity who maintains the balance between the demonic horde and angelic armies. While fighting his way through devastated cities and countless enemies, he discovers that the Seventh Seal was not broken, and the Apocalypse was started prematurely. Almost killed by Straga, a powerful demon, War is accused by the Council for bringing the Apocalypse too early and is sentenced to death. He demands a chance to redeem himself and restore the order on Earth. Council members agree, and he is sent back.
He returns to Earth a hundred years after the invasion, and finds out that the Hell forces won the battle. Everything is in ruins, and most of the humanity are dead or transformed into zombies. Here starts War's quest to defeat the demonic army and retrieve the Seventh Seal.
During his adventures, he will fight countless demons, angels, and zombies, solve quests, and climb buildings and walls.

The fights are very dynamic, involving multiple combos and different weapons. As the story evolves, War will receive new skills and weapons allowing different combat styles. Game's graphics are very good, and the animation greatly designed. The soundtrack matches very well the fights and the important story moments.

The game was well received by both critics and public, and the publisher ,THQ, already announced that a sequel is planned for 2013.
